Haze Of Hues by Courtney Cotter King

Haze Of Hues

Courtney Cotter King

Courtney wrote Haze of Hues while helpless on the sidelines of her sister’s infertility and pregnancy losses. She felt the intensity of her ache, while not fully being able to understand it, and did what she does when life’s pains or joys reach exquisite heights- she wrote a song. Since, her sister has welcomed two daughters, who’s astounding light is felt immediately upon their presence. With sweet relatable reverence, Haze of Hues is a song dedicated to every liver of life. Beaming hope on our blackest walls, it’s a lingering reminder darkness gives way to light and that connection is always within reach.

I have felt unconditional love from people with special needs that I have not felt from others and that is what drove this song.

Stowaway by Courtney Cotter King

Stowaway

Courtney Cotter King

Have you ever had a past love return to your thoughts? Anyone who has experienced a parting of ways with someone they once loved, understands that walking away doesn’t necessarily mean their past love has disappeared from thought. This strongly symbolic song tells the tale of a “stowaway” who’s hidden as a passenger in this woman’s mind, and as much as she’s trying to sail away to be free of him, he won’t leave.

“Piano-driven arrangements informed by classical and jazz come off effortlessly, evoking both early 70s Stevie Wonder and 90s Tori Amos. Smart, soulful and surprising, Courtney's tunes easily marry sound with story.”
