Courtney’s lyrics charmingly uplift without staring you in the face with their messaging, like her flirty “Man and Wife”, promoting fidelity or “Electric Feet”, about letting kids shine their energy.

As the baby of six, Courtney was born with a large in-house audience of listeners. She credits her ‘brood’ with helping her write this collection of songs about family relationships, both the one she came from and the one she’s creating now with her husband and three young kids. Each song from Brood has a personality that stands alone, while cohesive album artwork and videos weave the theme throughout. Courtney said, “aside from sheer enjoyment of the artistry of the album, I hope a feeling can emerge that empowers listeners that family relationships are worth whatever it takes and that it’s possible to live a big dream while still enjoying the sweetness of baring babies”. She’s a live off the land, give glory to God kind of gal with a passion for the 60’s-70’s, family dance-parties and supporting other artists at their craft.

This song was written as a tribute to families that have a child with special needs. All of these families featured have been so blessed to have these angels in their lives. I have felt unconditional love from people with special needs that I have not felt from others and that is what drove this song.

Have you ever had a past love return to your thoughts? Anyone who has experienced a parting of ways with someone they once loved, understands that walking away doesn’t necessarily mean their past love has disappeared from thought. This strongly symbolic song tells the tale of a “stowaway” who’s hidden as a passenger in this woman’s mind, and as

Anyone who has experienced a parting of ways with someone they once loved, understands that walking away doesn’t necessarily mean their past love has disappeared from thought. This strongly symbolic song tells the tale of a “stowaway” who’s hidden as a passenger in this woman’s mind, and as much as she’s trying to sail away to be free of him, he won’t leave.

Courtney wrote Haze of Hues while helpless on the sidelines of her sister’s infertility and pregnancy losses. She felt the intensity of her ache, while not fully being able to understand it, and did what she does when life’s pains or joys reach exquisite heights- she wrote a song. Since, her sister has welcomed two daughters, who’s astounding light is felt immediately upon their presence. With sweet relatable reverence, Haze of Hues is a song dedicated to every liver of life. Beaming hope on our blackest walls, it’s a lingering reminder darkness gives way to light and that connection is always within reach.

I Believe in Santa Claus

Christmas is arguably "the most wonderful time of the year", but can leave people feeling like they have to chose between commercialism and Jesus Christ. "I believe in Santa Claus" tells of the Jolly ol' fellow we all know, but shows more of his devotion to Jesus, who influences "his good will to all".
